Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero holds just over 33,000 spectators and sits on the western edge of Elche, around 20 minutes' walk from the city centre. Built in 1976 and refurbished multiple times since, the ground has the distinctive bowl shape of mid-20th-century Spanish stadiums, with continuous covered stands wrapping around the pitch. The two-tiered design provides excellent sightlines from almost every section, and the relatively steep upper tier creates real atmosphere when the ground is full. The home ultras gather behind one of the goals (the Fondo Sur) and provide the bulk of the noise. Away fans are typically housed in a corner of the opposite end. Concessions are standard Spanish football fare: beer, bocadillos, and the occasional hot food option. The acoustics are good, the lighting is excellent, and the whole ground manages to feel both well-established and well-maintained. It's a proper Spanish football experience without the corporate sheen of newer La Liga grounds.

Elche sits in the Valencian Community, around 20 minutes inland from Alicante, and is famous for two things: its football club and its palm groves. The Palmeral of Elche, a vast urban forest of date palms originally planted by the Moors, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and gives the city a distinctive North African character unmatched in Spain. The Huerto del Cura is the standout palm garden, a beautifully landscaped private grove open to visitors. Fly into Alicante Airport, which has multiple daily UK connections on Ryanair, easyJet, Jet2 and TUI. From the airport, regular buses and trains connect to Elche in around 20 minutes. The city is compact and walkable, with the stadium reachable on foot from anywhere central in 15-20 minutes. Pre-match, head to the streets around Plaza del Mercado or the bars near the Basilica for tapas and beer. Hotels are well-priced: the Hotel Huerto del Cura is the standout, set within the famous palm grove, while the Hotel Milenio offers a more modest central option. Many visiting fans base themselves on the Alicante or Santa Pola coast and travel in for matches, which works well given the short distances. The weather is reliably good year-round, with even winter fixtures often played in mild sunshine.
